#QOTD Have you ever done a beta reading? If yes, how was your experience? π π This year I had wanted to do more of ARCs. Never in my wildest dream would I have imagined that I will get a chance to do beta reading. It is such a different experience. I have really started appreciating the amount of hard work that goes into writing a book. It's not as simple as writing whatever comes to your mind. π π I feel I have grown as a reader. It's my friend's book and so we have discussions after I finish each section/part. It's when she asks me detailed questions that I reevaluate what a particular paragraph or an event made me feel. This is when I realized how subconsciously I had an opinion on everything. Normally I just read a book and it's only by the end I think about how the book made me feel. But with a beta read, it's so much different. Now I start thinking whether this part can be improved, is this incident really necessary in the book etc etc. π π Before I started I was not sure whether I would enjoy it but if you know me, you know that I'm always up for trying new things no matter what. And so I was more than ready to do the beta read. It is a huge book and I'm going slow. So I'm only less than a quarter into the book. But I can tell you that I'm definitely enjoying it. To be honest, this experience has also made me see every book I read in a different light. I've realized that I am also able to write better reviews. I am so grateful that I got this chance. π π #mondebooks #betareading #readingnottrending #readersofinstagram #bookaesthetic #bookish #bookishcommunity #bookworm #booknook #thereadersbooknook #worldofbooks #fiction #igreads #instabook #addictedtobooks #addictedtoreading #ilovereading #unitedbookstagram #thebookieclub https://www.instagram.com/p/B-wMpHWg5kn/?igshid=d8aoesw9a5bd
