Part two of trying to put my Struggles into words but my skin picking streak is still going strong and I was thinking about how the picking/pulling/plucking/scrubbing/etc. itself is only one component of it all. My favorite part comes afterwards when my skin is raw and bleeding and scrubbed clean, and I get to douse myself in rubbing alchohol or various ointments with salicylic acid. Only in those few moments while my skin burns before going numb do I feel clean. I desperately wish the burn would last longer but alas, it's diminishing returns at that point. This is all to say that being flayed alive and drenched in alcohol would fix me.
