#reading is essential

being nice to strangers has a huge impact btw because I was sitting on a bench today reading a book and on the bench next to me sat an elderly man also reading a book and when I was about to leave he asked me what I was reading, so I held up my book (This Savage Song by VE Schwab) and said “It’s my favourit author” and he said I never heard of them and then I asked what he was reading and he held up his book and said it’s a french author so I said “I never heard of them, either” and we both laughed and I said “Have a nice day” and he said “Yeah, you too” and then I left and felt like everything was really good and fine in the world because of this short, sweet interaction. so yeah.
