Hi sorry, happened to see the bi/pan pride question, do you think you could explain what that means? Im sorry
Hi there! Readers, anon is referring to this post.
Itās kind of confusing - the question here is āwhat the relationship of bisexuality and pansexuality - same thing, different, overlap, etc.ā
Anon asked me not to tag posts that are about bi pride, āpan pride.ā In theory this is because they want to make the point that not all bi people are pan.
Which is true. However, the terms are fuzzy inevitably because before āPanā was a word, āBiā meant different things to different bisexual people:
1. Some folks - āIām bi, because I like two gendersāĀ Ā
2. Other folks - āIām bi, because Iām attracted to all peopleā (this was when the assumption was that there are two genders, so bi = everyone)
SO, as our understanding of gender deepened, a lot of folks said, āIāve always called myself bi, but pan is more accurate.ā Or poly.
But do these people now want to āleaveā the bi community? Of course not. Words refer to political and community identities, which is why people identify as āgayā and āqueerā even those are both used as slurs.
This leaves us today with a lot of people with a lot of different opinions, and some arguments. For example people arguing that itās transphobic to identify as bi. BeforeĀ āpan was a term,ā I was bi and in a committed relationship with a trans woman. I wasnātĀ āwrong,ā terms evolve. And I still am part of the bi community even while I recognize and embrace that language evolves. Labels are personal, political, and historical.
TL;DR: version - some people, including me, identify as Bi AND Pan. I was born bi, grew up bi, and am bi. Labels are useful but limited and hereās a classic example, because yes at the same time Iām pan.
Iām not arguing that all bi people are pan, Iām just pushing back against the reader who requested that I not tag bi pride posts as both bi pride AND pan pride, which I do depending on the context of the post.
Since I recently finished Hollow Knight for the first time and am currently going for 112% I ask if you could draw the best and probably most useful character jn the game aka the Old Stag? Idk why I like him so much but he's awesome!
of course!! i love that little(big?) guy!!!
here ya go! sorry for the wait OH also congrats for finishing the game, i hope you can do 112%
