#re_set

Process start of Hypercraft till end second phase -  What a process, funny to see old things return, unfortunately I had to delete a lot also because they where such big files and my computer did not handle it all very well.  Started with the idea of a bodywarmer which shifted into kimono’s, Made it less typical and start looking out of my comfort zone. It was a fun process where I have explored my boundaries and creativity. 

Played with prints A LOT, I can not make choices very well that is what I found out these last couple of months.

Physical vs virtual

The thing I have experienced is that you can create this great design digital but eventually this results in not even half of the work. Making it physical as a manager I came to so many more insights which made it possible to add the little details and finalize everything properly digital.

CLO has been a pain in the ass. My computer could not handle the big files very well, so I spend a lot of time waiting. It was a relief making physical translations until I had to make the quilted Cocoon Hood..

For me personally, it has been quite a rollercoaster. I chose the minor 3D Hypercraft because of my sustainability interests and how to contribute to making the fashion industry less polluting and because I wanted to step out of my comfort zone. I am more of a practical person who sucks at visualizing things. I wanted to see and work with this side of the fashion industry so that I can combine them with the theoretical part in the future. 

I have been working the last several days on a website for RE_SET. You can already see a part of the information, webshop, virtual environments which humankind can “walk in” together with some pics and facts about the scenes. Which they may or may not know about yet.  The repair and recycle service is integrated in there but I still need to insert the steps of the care label, which are important to follow. 

- If your computer can not handle the animations than just keep it to good rendered images.  - Think about how you are going to pay your rent, where will people pay for if the garments you will be selling stay generations in the family?  - Where are you going to place your care label? When people are lounging and they want to go to your platform? How can they easy get access to it?

Colors

Today, colors are not imbued with quite as much meaning. People choose colors for their clothes based on their personal preference, rather than the meaning behind the colors. However, different colors have different effects on both the body and mind.

The colors of the garments of RE_SET will be in green, white, grey with red details. The color green stands for soothing nature and is in contrast with the white and grey which represents the cold and grey era we live in. According to research, these colors have a positive effect on the emotional wellbeing of consumers, grey and white work f.e. soothing and refreshing. While green has a comforting effect. The red details will provide as a mood booster which will influence consumers' energy level in a positive way.
