as the year closes, i want to reflect on the progression of my home studio and the journey ive been on. it’s been a good grind for about 4 months, starting with the TD-3. i got it back in 2022 for $110. it sat idle until 2025, when in late august i started to think about it a lot. “wouldn’t it be cool if you knew how to use it?” so, i taught myself (while drunk and stoned) to use it. after learning how to use it screwing around with it for a bit, i got hooked on analog. the rd-9 was required in my view for the full acid techno sound. after getting the RD-9, i wanted more places to share my music and had the thought, “upload to newgrounds” without having thought about the website in years. as a result, i met some really cool techno producers and gained so much knowledge. after that, i wanted the rd-78 for the cowbell and at the same time i got the behringer edge, then the grind. i purchased one compressor and limiter module with 2 channels and for some reason the seller sent 5. i entered into a contest on Newgrounds with my new friend Shabadaman (we got 5th). i was convinced to get the behringer crave after experiencing the interactions that the edge and grind have together and talking to Shabs who used one in a song. never enough synths (and now not enough space), so i got what is single-handedly the biggest synth i have (the 2600).
been honestly an insane year and i wouldn’t think a year ago that this is what id be doing right now.
more music to come as Weed Music for Weed People has one more song i have to finish and then the album itself will be finished.
