colin is fucking miserable.  hanging around wayne manor is masochistic at this point, but he can’t stop coming back.  because even though damian had firmly (but surprisingly gently) rebuffed colin’s clumsy advances, colin still wants to be around him.  except now things feel different; there’s a distance between them that has colin feeling like shit.  

and no one has ever accused colin of knowing how to deal with negative emotions in a healthy way, so it’s pretty par for the course when he finds himself latched onto tim instead.  tim is a — gentler presence than damian.  getting closer to them feels less like navigating a minefield, but colin really has to learn to stop comparing every moment he spends with tim to a moment he’s spent with damian.  

colin creeps a little closer on the couch now, ignoring the show they’re supposed to be watching.  tim doesn’t stiffen when you get too close, colin notices.  they even pulls their own attention from the tv to watch as colin shifts, knees digging into the couch by tim’s thigh so he can sit up straighter, eye to eye with tim.  

“colin,” tim says, and there’s definitely a cautionary edge to it, but they don’t push colin away.  not yet, anyway.  and — and it’s normal how badly colin just wants to feel something nice, isn’t it?  just wants to inch closer still so he can press a soft kiss against tim’s lovely mouth?

dick wonders sometimes if he’ll ever stop feeling bone-deep guilty for what he did to tim.  his heart had never been in the wrong place, but — but he thinks about their argument every damn day of his life, and it’s exhausting.  part of him wonders if tim will ever really be his brother again.  turns out dick isn’t very good at juggling more than one family member at a time.  if one’s not pissed at him, it means the others are.  

but when he thinks about it like that, it sounds like dick is feeling sorry for himself.  which kind of makes the guilt worse.  especially because his hands are already shaking a little as he stitches up a deep wound on tim’s arm.  “ you should have called me for backup, ” dick says, trying to keep his tone light and breezy.  

the last thing in the world he wants is to see another brother hurt.  dick stands up when he ties off the final stitch, hesitating.  he bends down a little, hand on the back of tim’s head lightly.  dick leans down to kiss their forehead, breathing out a quiet sigh.

3. Nose Kiss

On her best days, Nadia was playful, and on her worst, she was devious. Today was definitely the former–a day full of joyriding in a certain Metropolis Billionaire’s expensive car, spending too much money that his wife would scream about the next day, and coming home to find mimosas and french toast even though it was far from breakfast time. Needless to say, the Bubblegum Bitch of Gotham City was elated. 

Elation and alcohol did funny things to her boundaries. 

Like, for example, convincing her that getting up close and personal with one of the most obstinate and closed-off members of the Rogues was a good idea. The small, rational part of her distinctly doubted that he was a cuddler. After all, he didn’t seem fond of touch much anyway and that was basically all cuddling consisted of, but she was sure as hell going to try. Plopping down beside him on the couch, inching closer as the night grew longer, until she was all but in his lap and he was looking at her like she was crazy.
