Originally, I had the idea of beginning a euro-rack module, since this would help to understand how electricity directly effects sound and I like weird noises. I was going to order the parts for the swash noise kit from 4ms but they are out of some of the parts for this kit so the dude there recommended the clock multiplier or the clock divider. The only trouble here is that these do not actually generate sound only can be patched into an ADSR synth/sound generator and make multiplied or divided "beats" out of fractions/multiples of 1-10. This would be awesome but it seems more rational to start with something that actually generates sound. Dann from 4ms recommended a website.. Ken Stones CGS, which links to several other DIY websites, for modules and DIY projects. I will post a link below. Anyways the only trouble here is that Elby designs is based out of australia. So I'd probably have to order the kits basically tomorrow. A nice kit I read about was the Super Psycho LFO, which seems feasible to construct. Consists of 6 free running oscillators, variable between LFO and audio signals, high/low frequency, and a couple can be switched to triangle waves. A rate LED is present to visually represent the frequency range. Also, a glide control. I will post a picture of the schematic. Side note, the chip to power the oscillators positive pin is connected to 0V and the negative pin to -12V. The project will consist of 4 parts (the 6 LFO oscillators counting as 1), the power supply (2), the mixer output (3), and the LED display (4). The parts consist of capacitors, resistors, semiconductors, PCB boards, cables and hardware. Another note, oscillators 5 and 6 should be set to square wave when not being used and should not be switched to glide while in triangle wave mode since a DC offset may occur. I plan on ordering this kit as soon as possible since I have no idea how much time it will take to ship from australia.
