I absolutely love how I write Sebastian Moran. Pardon me for absolutely patting myself on the back but god. Sebastian not doing long term relationships but then he meets Jim and that fucking goes downhill. He fucking worships his boss like a god and doesn't care if it is one sided, as long as he gets to show his respect and tenderness. Sebastian being this tall intimidating man who uses that to his advantage to scare off creepy dudes and offers to walk anyone home who needs it. Sebastian having a soft spot for dogs. Sebastian being great with kids. Sebastian not giving a fuck about gender roles and wearing whatever is comfortable. Sebastian being the younger troublemaker brother. So a little list of reasons why Sherlock is a toxic friend:
Let's start with Molly. She has a crush on Sherlock, he knows this, he uses her feelings to get what he wants. I could stop there but I ain't. He also belittles her (ex the Christmas party scene), despite being aware that she holds his opinion on how she looks highly (ex when he mentioned the lip stick in episode one, she took it off after).
Moving onto Greg Lestrade. I won't be talking about how Sherlock acts when the two are working on a case. I'm gonna be talking about how he acts outside of that. Bringing up Greg's wife (obviously a private matter) mainly. Yes, you could argue that it's because he doesn't understand social things. Yes, I will agree with you there, because that is quite canon with any Holmes. But it's still absolutely not okay to do to someone who obviously cares for you, especially during a Christmas party. Especially after he just mentioned about things being better.
Now then, John. There is SO MUCH. Expecting him to drop everything for something small and silly (ex episode one, him asking for a pen despite John being away and busy), never communicating stuff with cases to him (which seems important), logging into John's personal laptop and reading his e-mails, the entire Reichenbach situation. And so much more but I feel like I shared what my issues are.
Mycroft. Now I know that Mycroft isn't a friend but family, but I'm too lazy to break into a family section. I really only have one point here, and that's Sherlock constantly asking about his brother's diet. Even if it was genuine concern, it seems uncalled for, and Mycroft doesn't seem to appreciate the question.
Ironically? Mary is the only one he's treated better than anyone else. Bit fucked if you ask me. But whatever.
Now then, disclaimer. You can still enjoy the show, the character, and the ship. I am not saying that you cannot, hence why I have a "tw Sherlock bashing" tag for anyone to block. I just see more talk about the creators of the show being problematic, John being problematic, and very little with Sherlock himself. And I take more issue with Sherlock personally, hence why I am rambling.
