Sometimes this is what you do at 2 in the morning

I’ve become quite concerned with the complete and utter obliviousness of Bay City’s residents. If a giant robot that’s several stories tall and can talk draws absolutely no attention from all but one person, I don’t even want to know what’s gonna happen when someone gets straight up murdered in this bitch.

Walkers Do Fall Apart

Ryan wiped his sweaty hands on his jeans and knocked on the door of Matt’s room in Mech X-4.

“What do you want dingus, I’m tired.”

“Oh, um, nothing. Never mind.”

Ryan turned away from the door, his heart sinking.

“Wait,” Mark said, “get your butt in here.”

Ryan opened the door to see Matt on the makeshift bed, his arm draped over his head and a pile of books next to the bed. He got up and gave Ryan a worried look. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m,” Ryan ran a hand through his hair. “I’m, I’m… scared.” His voice cracked.

Mark hugged his little brother. “Me too.”

Ryan sniffed. “You are?”

“A twisted billionaire genius insistent on destroying the entire world has out mother. Of course I’m scared.”

“You don’t seem like it.”

“Because I’m Mark Walker, I can’t look scared. And,” he looked at Ryan, “I’ve got to be tough, you know, for you. You’re going through a lot, way more than I am. I can’t be falling apart.”

“I won’t mind if you fall apart. Heck, I’ve been trying not to fall apart because you’re not and I’ve been thinking ‘I’ve got to be tough… like Mark.’”

Mark sighed and hugged Ryan again. “Have you eaten?” 

“Yes.”

“Don- I was about to ask if you’ve done your homework but…” 

“The school’s gone.”

“Yeah.” Mark sighed again. He took a blanket and wrapped Ryan in it, “Come in my bed.”

He held him. “Walkers, we don’t lose but, falling apart doesn’t mean you’ve lost. Okay?”

“Okay.” Ryan closed his eyes and let the tears come out.
