I’ll just default this to Tex and OH BOY HAS HE.  It’s one of the many reasons he has trust issues and rarely works with his professional hunting peers; you’ll often have unsavory competitors in bounty hunting that will take advantage of any opportunity to not split profits.  Give them a centimeter, take a whole klick and so forth.  Rax grew to expect these sorts of antics.  He doesn’t react with surprise or vulnerability, but vengeful and swift punishment for those who attempt to steal his prize(s).  Preemptively if he must.
