The brunette stamped her feet impatiently, lips smacking together I distaste, eyes narrowing. She stood like that for a long time before breaking her facade with a war cry of some sort, ignoring all the eyes that turned her way, “Oh for crying out loud! Can’t you let me in just this once? You /know/ I’m always here and harmless. Why can’t you just excuse me just this once! What if Chaeyeon is d y i n g?! She needs me!”

It was late at night. And he was doing something very dumb.

Not because he wasn’t sleepy, but because when he was about to dress himself to go to bed he finally missed Genevieve, his cat. After a day of studying, of course only at that time of the night he would notice he hasn’t seen the cat since the night before. And, even though it was almost time for all students to go to their common rooms, he couldn’t help but to worry about his most precious daughter and, in a very dumb impulse, get down in a silly hunt for the missing child.

It was freezing cold and the corridors were almost empty. The lack of students weren’t a worry for him, but his precious baby who was neglected and that might be suffering by that time thanks to his lack of attention. And of course the burning sadness and guilty inside him only made him eager to find the cat as soon as possible.

Okay so Mark knew there were rules that he probably should respect but his dad always taught him that rules were more of a guideline. They were flexible, made to be pushed and never truly broken if you never got caught. Perhaps other children would have taken this as a joke but to a boy as mischievous as Mark, this became the unwritten law.

her very first detention, all because of her stupid weird visions during divinations class  ━ wonderful. 

upon catching the sight of her fellow ravenclaw, she felt a slight guilt inside her. she shouldn’t even be here and yet here she was. what a pity. astrid doesn’t really break into a contagious laughter on most occasion, but when she does, she really doesn’t have control over it. being imaginative really has it’s downside. it was in no doubt that the ravenclaw had a habit of thinking imaginary things, and sometimes, it was inevitable. even unintentionally, her mind plays tricks on her.

this is probably why she thinks divination wasn’t for her, though that doesn’t mean she doesn’t take interest in taking up the subject. she walks calmly towards the door once they were dismissed, the parchment that were given to them clutched against her slender digits. she stops once reaching outside, halfheartedly sparing a glance at her fellow ravenclaw. astrid was unsure of what to say, but decided to speak to at least ease the tension, gaze drifting down to the paper she was holding to walk herself through the list.

“maybe we should get going and get these so we can make it back before night falls.” once again, she heaves a sigh, gaze slowly lifting up to meet hers, giving the younger an apologetic look. “i’m really sorry.”

the owlery stank of owl droppings and straw and, apparently, song yixing’s own bitterness. all he’d wanted was to send a letter to home, inquiring whether his elder siblings required him to stay at home to care for hyojin. a simple letter, and because he did not own an owl himself he was obliged to send one through the school owl. 

yet things never quite worked out as he wanted, and forehead now sporting an ugly bruise, and yixing’s shoulders hunched as he tried to give the tied, rolled-up parchment to the school owl, while at the same time trying to defend himself from one that he barely recognised, let alone barely antagonised, given that he’d disturbed it by knocking his elbow -- on accident! -- against its wing.

“fuck -- ow!” he exclaimed, trying to wave it away as the parchment finally found itself in the clutches of the proper bird, and promptly carried away. “hey -- what’s your problem?!” as if the owl would answer.
