I hope the imagery I employed for Rathaniel pleases its vanity.

Life was good. Even though he was still muted by that magical anon or whatever they had called themselves. His sister was on the mend. His other now knew what had happened and would be able to visit her as well. 

And Michael loved him. Even through it all. Challenges that would have driven other's away and had done so before did not faze the man. Even as Piper was mute, he still loved him. 

He reached up to pet the rat riding on his shoulder with one hand, smiling at him. Rathaniel had insisted on joining Piper for this quick run out for supplies, and lacking the voice to argue with him, Piper relented. Michael had mentioned he liked milk and... well, all of Piper's was swiftly on its way to becoming cheese all on its own, but a swift run to the store would fix that.
