Macaque used to use his powers to steal money to buy stuff... but he realized that he had to stop being a thief to raise Bai He properly... so, he buys an apartment and gets a job at a shadowplay theater.

He didn't trust anyone with Bai He, so he had his shadow clones babysit and homeschool her... not the best option, but it's the only one that he has.

He also trains at a dojo and makes Bai He do the same when she's old enough.

In his white-haired disguise, he calls himself Mao.

*Macaque/Mao meets Sandy at the dojo, and they slowly become friends.

Eventually, Sandy learns that Macaque is having trouble giving Bai He a proper education... so he offers to tutor and babysit her, while Macaque is at work.

Bai He loves Sandy and adores his cats (Sandy even gives her a kitty, as a pet).

The kitty's name is Mooncake.

Macaque and Sandy later became BFFs.

*Pigsy's restaurant is Bai He's favorite restaurant and Macaque/Mao takes her there at least once or twice a week.

Bai He bonds with MK and Mei, while Macaque watches.

Macaque also grew quite fond of MK and Mei.

Macaque and Pigsy get along surprisingly well... bonding over being grumpy dads.

Macaque avoids Tang at first, because he's a Wukong Fanboy... until Macaque realized that he can tell Tang embaressing stories about Wukong (and lying that he got these rare stories from an ancient temple).

Nobody knows that Mao is Macaque, except maybe Bai He.

*Bai He is a sweet, yet sassy and brave girl.

Bai He likes monster, alien and robot related films.

Bai He likes taking photographs of demons in the city.

Bai He also likes singing and dancing.

*Macaque tries to warn Spider Queen about LBD, but LBD places an sharp icicle near her host's neck, causing Macaque to be quiet... Afterwards, Macaque became mostly silent while working for LBD and Spider Queen... When Wukong and Demon Bull King got captured, he refused to talk to them.

But Macaque hates being a puppet, so he warns MK through shadowplays about both Wukong and LBD and doesn't fight MK, even when MK figures out who he is and attacks him.

*LBD doesn't like that Macaque warned MK, so she punished him by slashing a bleeding cut on his daughter's cheek as a warning.

She then makes him hunt down Wukong and MK, threatening his daughter's life again, if he doesn't do this.

Macaque doesn't enjoy it and is clearly holding back against MK and his friends... but he's not holding back against Wukong... he kinda enjoys hurting Wukong, cause he's petty.

MK can tell that Macaque is holding back and feels guilty, so he wonders if Macaque is being forced by LBD to hunt them down.

Macaque tells MK that LBD has something important that he needs back, but won't elaborate.

*Eventually, right before the samadhi fire ritual, Macaque angrily blurts out that he's trying to save his daughter... much to MK's, Wukong's and everyone else's shock, as the samadhi fire is about to be summoned.

When Mei leaves, Macaque explains the whole truth, including how he's Mao aka Bai He's father.

Before Wukong leaves, Macaque threatens to give Wukong a fate worse than death, if Bai He dies by Wukong's hands.

When Mei and Wukong leave, MK manages to convince Macaque to stay so they can help his daughter.

MK, Nezha and Macaque are there when Wukong gets possessed... and Macaque saves MK with his shadow portals, while Possessed Wukong attacks and captures him.

*LBD emotionally tortures the imprisoned Macaque, while Possessed Wukong helplessly watches.

Eventually, Macaque manages to escape, capture the Mayor and find MK's Team... Macaque is salty at Red Son for helping free LBD in the first place.

Macaque easily agrees to help MK battle Possessed Wukong; he'll do anything to save his baby girl.

Macaque refuses to get knocked out by Possessed Wukong, no matter how many times the Monkey King knocks him down, he quickly gets back up to fight him again... Macaque is both a papa wolf and mama bear.

Possessed Wukong had to drag Macaque back to LBD and MK, kicking and screaming...

*LBD then gives Macaque a choice; she can make Possessed Wukong kill one kid, but spare the other... but Macaque has to choose... Bai He or MK.

Macaque can't decide, because he cares about MK and he refuses to be LBD's puppet anymore... He begs LBD to kill him instead, since he's the one that keeps disobeying her... LBD instead decides to kill both Bai He and MK, while making Macaque watch.

The combination of MK's words and Macaque's screams, allows Wukong to break free from LBD's control.

LBD releases Bai He, so she can control Mei... Bai He was unconscious, but Macaque believes she died... so, Macaque becomes tearfully enraged and terrifying.

Macaque pounces LBD and beats her to a pulp, he almost kills her himself, until the Mayor stops him... causing LBD to escape, but the Mayor to die by Macaque's hands.

*Macaque angrily helps MK and Wukong finish off LBD... then he cries over his daughter's body.

MK, Mei, Wukong and everyone else cry over Bai He's 'death'.

When Bai He wakes up, those heartbroken tears became tears of joy.

When everyone is eating noodles to celebrate, Macaque NEVER lets Bai He go.

Bai He meets Red Son and Nezha and likes them... she doesn't like Wukong though, for hurting papa in the past... Wukong tries to be nice to her and give her noodles (so Wukong can get close to Macaque), but Bai He ain't having it.
