A bright New Year. For some, anyway. Mostly, it's just more of the same, only colder. The cat knows. The cat always knows.

Reinhardsbrunn is situated in the Thuringian Forest, 1300 feet above sea-level. It is now a ducal château, but was formerly a Benedictine monastery and converted to its present form in 1827-35. It stands in a delightful park, typical of the beautiful scenery of the province. The picture shows a portion of the old cloister wall viewed by moonlight, a most charming sight.
