holychild - Diamonds On The Rebound

The video for this second single is deliberately and decidedly more lo-fi/glitch than their finely-honed debut "Watching Waiting" directed by Laurel Parmet (totally worth checking out), but the song that "features third-graders from a public school in Washington, DC" is a perfectly produced pop track that demonstrates the depth of talent of this California duo. Liz Nistico and Louie Diller moved to LA to pursue the dream, and given the quality of their early work I expect great things.

Look for their forthcoming Tribes EP in January. Video directed by Raphael Peterson.

A song that Louie and I have been sheddin for the summer and brought Raffi along. The band, Man in Space, was cool enough to let us show off at our CD Release show at Bottom of The Hill. My poor dad was filming it with his phone and failed to hold it horizontally, and missed part of Raffi's solo. Little note, there was terrible low-frequency feedback happening on stage while we played this and messed with my ear, but it comes with the territory playing at rock shows.
