the other thing i liked about martinez
that actor brought his top game and angie matched it.
I really think that was a big problem with casey. the performance was always so wooden (although to be fair, maybe there just isn't much you can do with such cringe-worthy material). In Angie's scenes with him, it was just ... ugh. awkward, and not jane-like.
Then she starts arguing with Martinez, and it's like BOOM. THAT IS JANE CLEMENTINE RIZZOLI.
honestly, if Martinez is going to keep bringing that out in her? Keep him around.
