Expectations of interactions are a cultural thing. In parts of the middle East, women can be expected to be raped merely for being unescorted by a male even if their bodies are fully covered. In America women can expect to be raped for being in a bad part of town or for wearing something too revealing or for drinking too much. However, women in Europe can be nude with no expectations of rape. To those who say “well what did you expect?” The only reason it is expected is because of our collective attitude. I say I expect that our culture can improve and that violence shouldn’t be widely accepted and I will fight to change our current reality tooth and nail. I guess what I'm saying is that it truely doesn't have to be this way despite what some may think.
