Oh god, I'm a captain of way too many ships to choose just one but umm, i think i'll go for Scisaac as OTP and Sciles as brOTP.

Sam had a lot of questions, a lot of insecurities really, surrounding his relationship with Cas. They'd only been together a few months, and it was still new and precious and delicate to him. He didn't want to do anything that might harm it. But still, the doubts wouldn't leave him.

The largest, of course, was the fact that Cas was an angel and he was... well, not good, in his opinion. He was an abomination, a freak, the boy with the demon blood and Lucifer's vessel. How could someone pure as Cas be with him? He wasn't brave enough to breach that topic yet though.

He had already asked about the problems raised by human/angel relationships, and whether it was frowned upon by Heaven. Castiel said it was, and then added what amounted to an eloquently stated "But I don't give a flying fuck what they think anymore." So apparently convention didn't matter, which was slightly comforting.

There was still something else bothering him though, except he hadn't really realized it until today. They'd been getting more comfortable with showing affection, and that coupled with Cas actually having some time to spend with Sam instead of popping in and out so quickly, led to more and more going out together. Today it had just been to the grocery store, picking up supplies and trying to gently explain to the angel that they could not actually afford to buy all the coffee the store had.

They'd been holding hands, almost absently; it was something that just sort of happened now, and they'd been halfway through the trip when Sam heard someone muttering behind them. He'd glanced over, not even really connecting it, until he made eye contact with the woman and she glared at him, disgust in her eyes as he dragged her child quickly by. He just barely caught the word 'sinful' before she'd disappeared around the corner. The hunter tried to brush it off, but it bothered him all the way home.

When they finally arrived he turned to his boyfriend as they were unpacking the groceries. "Cas?" The angel hummed in acknowledgement and glanced up from where he'd been intently reading the ingredients of some canned soup. "Is it- are they right? The uh, the conservatives and religious people and stuff. About being gay. Is it... wrong?"

"You are worried about you and I being the same gender in relation to my vessel?" Castiel inferred, cocking his head. Sam nodded and looked down, feeling stupid. "Sam." The angel put a gentle hand on his shoulder, waiting for their eyes to meet again before continuing. "There is and has never been anything wrong with loving anyone. Your Bible has been badly misinterpreted, and much of it is simply wrong I'm afraid. I have never met God, but I know that angels don't have genders technically, and we were simply taught that love was good and hate was bad. To love someone is a wonderful thing, and there is no reason for something as simple as gender to influence whether it's right or not. I could just as easily have found a female vessel, do you think that would change your feelings for me?"

"Of course not."

"Then it shouldn't matter. It is the heart and soul that inspires love, not the body." Castiel's smile widened then as he stepped closer. "Though I must say you do have a fantastic physical form as well, Sam." The hunter laughed and wrapped his arms around his angel, relieved. All conversation was forgotten as they remembered a much better use of their lips.
