My mind tends to wander sometimes while I workout. I know I know I should be focused on the task at hand but I blame undiagnosed adult ADHD sometimes lol.
This morning my wandering thoughts steered towards how much this platform has changed since I first started posting. I miss the early days where engagement and interaction used to feel more inspired.
What do I mean by this? Well thinking about it I feel like we’ve all started to become desensitized to creation. Especially now with AI taking over. Creation of all types, art, audio, video even creation of self. The only way you used to exemplify hard work was to work hard and share. People noticed this and for some it provided inspiration garnered a sincere reaction and felt real. Now so much can be quickly fabricated and the airwaves are flooded with all this created content it’s hard not to become desensitized to true creation.
Oh look an amazing photo, that’s a really great piece of art, what a cool drawing, wow you look like you’ve worked hard to get so fit and on and on and on. A lot is still genuine but a lot is also now being fabricated and it’s blurred the lines. Detracting from the real, the hard work the genuine because we’ve seen so much and also sometimes struggle to know what is truly real.
I miss the real, and times where the only place that really wowed you with created realities was the movies and the magic they used to create those worlds. Now people can generate them in seconds on phones and tablets.
I see AI being used a lot in the fitness realm to enhance or create a desired look. It used to be big companies and pro photographers using lighting, airbrushes and other tricks to accentuate the desired look. No I can create it myself in seconds. No doubt it’s a cool advancement in technology but it leaves me less impressed with what I see. Like I can’t help but question it now and wonder if someone’s look has been enhanced or fabricated.
Makes it hard to be inspired sometimes. So I’m finding inspiration in myself. Seeing and knowing the work I put in is real. Putting my own work out there that is truly created by me and trying to focus less on needing validation.
