I was thinking of doing it mostly in third person with excerpts from Rose’s journal in first person (because I’m reading Watchmen again and can’t get Rorschach’s journal out of my head). It’d be third person mostly focusing on Rose and then some Lissa. Possibly a bit of Dimitri because that’s always fun.

Okay, admittedly I just thought that everywhere in America the age of consent is 18. But that’s because i don’t live there, so I just went on what I knew from pop culture.
However, Montana State Law says that consent cannot be given if the elder is more than three years older AND if he is in a position of power over her, eg. a teacher. Because of this, technically Rose cannot give consent or her consent is not valid because of both of these things. Therefore, it is classed as sexual assault.
Further more, as she is in a position of emotional compromisation, Dimitri is taking advantage of her.
Plus, if we take into account everything that happened in Blood Promise and Spirit Bound, with is both emotional and physical abuse and manipulation, the pairing is flawed. Even though he was a Strigoi, he knew full well what he was doing.
Dimitri was still in a position of power over Rose. It is as simple as that. The couple are problematic.
Being soulmates has nothing to do with it. It can still be problematic.
I love the books, and I love the characters, but there is nothing wrong with me critically analysing the text and pointing out flaws, and sharing that opinion with other people that like the series.

I've read the first three books. I honestly don't know why/ or how I put it down... Wait, I think book four wasn't out yet... Anyways VA will probably be the first series I try to finish!
