Have you noticed how at the airport at the end of HLV Mary seems pretty freaked out upon hearing Moriarty might still be alive? This is a woman who didn't blink when she shot Sherlock, but suddenly is all concerned about Moriarty? What do you make of that?
Since I see Mary as a wholly duplicitous person I really can’t say for sure what I think this may mean. The words of Hope in ASiP come back to me, ‘is it a bluff or a double bluff or a triple bluff?’. I don’t know if she’s actually surprised or if she’s pretending to be surprised. I think it could go either way. I think wellthengameover is one of the most in-depth theorists out there and I’m guessing has an opinion on this.

Hey, I couldn't reblog this exchange so I’m making a new post.
That’s a solid possibility, randomjane. If Mary is in John’s life doing Moriarty’s bidding and has deviated from his plans his return could mean that she has a lot of explaining to do. Maybe she thought that since he was dead she could avoid any negative repercussions from her insubordination and alas if he comes back from the dead, then, yeah, she could be in trouble with her boss, basically.
