Perhaps there is something to gain even at this age. The way human society changes and yet stays the same as they struggle to answer the questions of their ways. Questions about their very being. They are a curious species, much like we are, but... They are even more drastic due to their singular lifespan. Living for five-hundred-and-thirty years. Living for more than what they do... It can become boring, repetitive and as one gets older traditions muddle as you try to keep up with a rapid world that can condemn and decimate others as much as they do each other. Certainly this long life is not much of a gift. To witness those you care for fade as time seems to stand ever still. They may wish for this longer life, maybe they would do better. Maybe they will hold on to their purpose. Maybe emotions, knowledge, wisdom, and power will not make them feel like a powerless fool waiting to end. -Yukino, age 530
