You know, once we get Haehyun and Dizzy, there's a possible empty slot in the middle. Like with Leo and the random select in Sign, if they squeeze the random select up, do you think we'll see Raven or a new comer as playable? That way we'll have 23 characters! P.S. what's the point of a random select option? I personally think it's a waste of space sense players already know who they want to pick and play as 95% of the time.

2. Random Select is for people (like myself) who don’t have a main and like to play anyone they choose. It’s also a nice Counter-Pick device for players who are skilled at whomever is chosen by the RNG. With a little luck, you’ll get to play as the character you’re most skilled at and throw the opponent off guard. With Bad Luck, you’ll just get more practice with characters you don’t use as often. It is tactics.
Furthermore, it’s good training for matchups if you feel you aren’t prepared to face certain characters and need a curve-ball thrown at you. Players who have Mains should do well to remember that while they may be good against certain characters they may be at a disadvantage against others. Random Select also helps alleviate the burden of sticking to one character and feeling the burden of disadvantage as well.
Random Select is also awesome for picking stages and music too, if you want to explore new places as you fight around the world!
