This happened last weekend. We were at a nearby beach restaurant waiting for our turn to get a table. Yna, my 6-year old daughter, wanted to walk-over to the breakwater so she can see the waves up close. A few minutes later she walked back to me with the biggest frown a child's lips could ever muster. "Daddy, there's garbage in the water. People are throwing garbage in the water. Why?" At this point, she couldn't hold it in any more. She hugged me tight and gave out a loud, desperate cry. It went on for a few while till she finally calmed down. She wanted to pick up the garbage but I said no since it's dangerous with the high tide. I told her we'll clean up the seas with a big vacuum cleaner when she's bigger. She's somehow happier afterwards. She walked back to the railings and started lecturing other kids about throwing garbage in the seas. Kids say the darnedest things.

I was having sandwich and soup for lunch at a coffeeshop opposite to a saladshop when I noticed two women running out. They were my colleagues. They were apparently running away from a huge (still an understatement) cockroach the size of which would scare the bajeezas out of an average cat. It was so big, I could clearly see it 5m away at the coffeeshop I was in. Other people eating noticed it and ran away. The cockroach made it's way to the salad bar and was trapped in an aluminum container by one of the staff. And I was thinking like, "Damn, with cockroaches that buff, I should switch to vegan..."

You know that sense of panic when you call someone on the phone and just when the other side starts to ring, you mindlessly grab a loud, crunchy snack?

His shining chariot of doom would speed along the dirt path that connected CHE and MB like it was EDSA at 3am. One time, there was just a few of us on the jeep - my kada (4guys+2girls) and 2 more random isko(a) so we were bouncing 'round the back like we were in a sparsely populated harlem shake video. Rides with him is what you would call the ugly love child of a rollercoaster and a bus tumbling down a cliff. It's a wonder how we managed to passed our math exams whenever we ride his jeep.
