the fact that till made an effort to say some words in irish (a language not many people speak as a first language outside of the gaeltacht) and was grammatically correct too is so special to me. 🥺 he could've just spoken in english, but no he went the extra mile and learned how to say some words in irish.
my guy tries his best, and he is doing an amazing job. i would love to teach him more phrases 👉👈
They literally couldn't make me hate Till Lindemann 🤘 he must know that Irish isn't our main spoken language but he made the effort to learn two phrases (and "go raibh maith agat" must be a mouthful to people who have never spoken Irish once in their whole life, it's a bit of a mouthful to me if i'm being honest lol) AND he got the pronunciation almost spot-on as well.
I definitely feel like learning irish phrases is different than learning, say a few French or Spanish ones because Irish is literally only spoken here and not even across the whole country, only in a few spots on the west coast. It doesn't benefit him, if you get what I mean? I doubt he's going to go on holiday here and use his newly picked up Irish phrases. He only learned them for this ONE single gig in Ireland, and it honestly made me so thrilled (once again , they could never make me hate you, till lindemann)
But all joking aside, i think it shows so much respect for a country to learn the language, and i cannot stress enough that Irish IS NOT spoken on a day-to-day basis here so he went the extra mile to learn the NATIVE language when it would have been so much more convenient for him to just use English.
