Luna slapping Noctis

I threw in a quote because I felt that it would match this what if scenario that Nyx and Luna had met each other as children. It would be interesting if they met briefly in the past only for fate to bring them together once more. Luna was that comet, a marvelous phenomenon but was gone in a blink of an eye, to Nyx

Their circumstances and values are similar; it brought them to their undying loyalty to King Regis and accumulated to a strong sense of duty towards the royal bloodline. The happiest moments of their lives were in their childhood, Luna’s was brief before she was subjected to trauma and captivity when the Niflheim Empire conquered Tenebrae while Nyx’s tragedies began later in his mid-teens/early adulthood when he was screaming for the medics/healers that never arrived as he held his dying sister and mother during the time Niflheim invaded Galahd and he found a new purpose in life by serving King Regis. Both are willing to leap into the fire to save others or to accomplish their goals without hesitation, disregarding for their own lives and safety; equally stubborn.

Only difference here is Luna still retains her drive and was able to put aside the disquiet and chaos around her, having found peace with herself despite all she endured –a center she found and nothing would ever budge her out of it. Nyx, despite being the famed champion of the Kingsglaive and having the conscience to disobey orders to save the family he made, suffers from time to time from his trauma and is content with not having a place to go and uncertain of the kind of future he wants to live in. Even though when he is determined to carry out a task and see it to the very end, Nyx constantly asks himself if this future he can’t see was worth fighting for. The past and self-loathing continues to eat at him, believing that he would never be good enough since he wasn’t strong enough to save his loved ones.

Based off Emily’s smol cutie Luna fanart which reminds me a lot of my LuNyx lovechild Corinna Crowe Nox Fleuret, I’d love to see you draw small but rambunctious cutie who couldn’t spit it out that he likes Luna!Nyx, this childhood headcanon occurred at a time they knew nothing but bliss, innocence, and eternity living like that seemed achievable.

Nyx and his younger sister, Selena ("goddess of the moon" paired nicely with the “ancient Greek goddess personifying night” epithet) were playing with Libertus down by the Galahd River, a little ways from town. It’s not exactly safe but the local kids like to sneak out at nearly every opportunity to cool off. Selena Ulric had a habit of tagging along the older boys despite how she doesn’t want to jump in the water, she was content with watching them swim and digging holes in the mud. One day, the boys were too preoccupied with play that they didn’t notice she had wandered off. They called for her but she didn’t respond. Nyx and Libertus, as they threw on their clothes, decided to split up to search for Selena and to regroup at the river if they found her.

Nyx ran blindly, desperation clawed at his belly, not knowing where his sister could have went. Branches and thorns scraped his skin but he trudged on, ignoring those minor cuts. Much of the territory he searched through were areas he didn’t explore himself and he ended up rolling down a hill and falling into a marsh. He was even ensnared by mud and landed in animal dung, covered in filth from head to toe but finding his sister safe was his top priority than thinking about taking a bath after this, and this boy wasn’t a fan of bath time.

The elder Ulric stumbled upon the garden of an extravagant villa, almost like a castle. There he saw a girl in a white dress and with sun-kissed skin, almost like a princess from the fairy tales. She was around his age and possessed golden hair that went a little past her shoulders, carrying a bouquet of purple flowers with a serene smile on her lips, humming away. That smile soon disappeared when she laid eyes on the boy and she flung her basket at him.

“Bad wolf! Stay away! If you don’t, I’ll…” The young girl looked about before screaming from the top of her lungs, “GEN–!”

It propelled the Ulric boy to leap out of the flower bushes and clamp his hand over the girl’s mouth. “I’m not a wolf. I’m begging you, don’t scream.” He released her when she nodded.

“Who… Who are you? And why do you smell?”Nyx explained that he was searching for Selena and fell along the way. As he’s explaining, Luna passed him a handkerchief and they introduced themselves, she says that this is her house. He then asked her if he had seen his sister and Luna responds that she hasn’t. As he’s turning to leave, she volunteered to help search for Selena with him, disregarding the fact that her family and retainers might become worried with her absence. She wanted to help.

They end up finding Selena with Libertus at the river. Libertus had found her, Selena had decided to search for shells and got lost. After Nyx scolded her, he immediately embraced her, covering her in filth. Nyx, Selena, and Libertus had to escort Luna home. Her absence didn’t go unnoticed and her mother was furious, Luna however, deemed it was worth leaving to help a new friend and had asked, “Will we see each other again? I’d like to play with you sometime.”
