And Jack (the younger one) has developed this lovely habit of bringing me a cup of tea in bed in the mornings.

He literally wakes up on a Saturday shuffles downstairs in his pokemon pjs, makes me a brew and brings it to me in bed.

I dont ask him to, its just something he likes to do. Possibly because I'm always so delighted when he does (who doesn't like being brought a brew in bed on a Saturday morning).

But like it occurred to me the other day that he might be becoming a people pleaser, and like its not a bad thing to want to do nice things for others but people could take advantage of that as he gets older...hell, have I been taking advantage of that for the sake of getting a cup of tea and an extra 20 minutes in bed?

Anyway long story short, its Easter Monday so we're all on a bank holiday and having a lay in this morning. I got out of bed and woke HIM up with a cup of tea and breakfast in bed. My god he had the biggest smile and said he feels like a prince.

I can hear him watching cartoons and crunching his toast.

They have class "bubbles" that can't mix, they can't share anything even pencils. They have to bring their own water bottle each day. They eat lunch at their desk. It all sounds really depressing but they seem happy to be back with their friends.

My eldest nephew Liam is 10 , his best friend is a hugger. But Liam told me that he he nixed that and told Josh to respect his personal space. I dunno how long that will last.

The other thing tho, he said a lot of the kids in his class were sat at their desks almost in tears, just totally fucking overwhelmed.

These are 10 year olds who haven't been in rooms this full since March. Who now have anxiety about being thrown back into the plague pit basically...because they're old enough to know the risks.

They shouldn't be back at school man. This is fucking riddiculous.

My younger nephew was kind of fine about it, he's 7 and I guess a bit too young to really get the importance of what's happening...which most likely means his class ain't going to stick to the safety rules. They just don't get it and get too excited and stuff...I suppose at least being that oblivious means they don't have the anxiety the slightly older kids have?

It's another Irwinversary :) my nephews made him cards and he had a feast and a new bit of cork bark to climb on.

She loves Irwin and asked if he could stay at her house. And I said No but he will live for a very long time so maybe after I'm old and dead she could look after him for me.

And she turns to me and says "When you going to die then? Not next weekend cause I see my daddy then but weekend after is okay".

I feel this is a testament to how much time I spend sat at Irwins tortoise table just watching him.
