Ahhh, you wish to hear my opinion on tomkie? 

Hmm, alright then.

If you know me, you’re aware that i’m a multishipper/crackshipper, so that means i kinda practically ship everything and i’m open to really all ships for the most part (Even silly ones).

I don’t judge you based on ships, and I will not judge what makes you happy because you are entitled to your opinion (As long as you don’t take it too far and shove it on anyone else)

This is another one of those ships that are currently labeled as a “Crack-ship”, which are reserved for oddball pairings, usually ones that are small and rarely thought of.

 So you typically have to use much of your own interpretation to bring the ship to life.

Jackie is a character who so far sadly has been very flat, she was kinda just resorted to “Generic Crush” when the show started and there really wasn’t much to go on with her.

Granted, Tom didn’t have much when the show started either, but at least the crew talked about his background, he had a more personal connection with star and marco, and we had a better idea of where he was coming from.

Jackie didn’t really become a bigger character until season 2, something i’m thankful for.

I get tired of generic love interests in TV shows, especially when they have no personality and are just there to simply look good and be a prize.

Jackie has a great design of course ((This show did great on character designs btw)), but it was probably a lot harder for anyone to root for Marco to win when Jackie never expressed that much character.

Jackie’s not perfect, but she is getting better, i can only hope being marco’s girlfriend will give us more time to get to know her.

The fandom complains about all these relationships because now there’s not enough “Star/Marco moments” but i love the show for focusing on other relationships and characters.

Star and Marco are the main characters, so of course they’ll share more screen time.

But reducing every other character on the show as background characters with no point? it’s wasted potential.

this cast is so colorful, i WANT to see these other characters interact.

Jackie is supposed to be this very chill individual, she’s calm and cool, and doesn’t let stress or problems get to her as much.

the fandom can make any lousy excuse they can, but Jackie is far from a bad person, heck she even left her date to help save Star.

Whether she’d get along with tom? I can’t be sure, she seems to represent his opposite quite a bit i suppose. While Jan//Tom shippers ship it for the characters having similar interests, i still feel like Tom needs someone emotionally supportive in his life due to his issues. (And i don’t know janna enough to say for sure if she’d be emotionally supportive of tom’s mental illness)).

Jackie does boost Marco’s self esteem quite a bit, and that’s pretty nice to see.

She could probably do that for Tom, he could use all the confidence he needs.

Maybe her calm vibe could be beneficial to tom?

I’m not entirely sure what Tom would provide for her in this relationship to my knowledge yet.

Jackie seems very normal about magical occurrences and beings, so i doubt Tom being a demon would be an issue.

I think most of it comes from how you see the characters in general, and how you think their relationship would work based on how you interpret the characters.

i actually do enjoy and find this ship interesting, so if any interaction is possible on the show i can definitely  talk about it much more and give finale thoughts on how well it is.

My only real issue with the ship is mostly due to the fact that this ship only spawned AFTER BBTBC.

Why does that bother me? Because it’s ship fodder, and that angers me.

I don’t enjoy it much when ships are rubbed in anyone’s face, which is something that commonly happens with Starc//o in this fandom.

So to me, it’s like saying after Jarc//o had tons of catering in this episode, we KNOW they HAVE to break up so the fandom’s favorite ship can happen (Despite the fact that they could easily not happen), so let’s shove Jackie off with someone random so she’s no longer an issue.

I dislike this because to me it feels like people who do this are completely dissing on someone else’s ship ((A ship that’s now canon, which makes it even worse))

and i really despise people who rag on people for what they ship and call their ship better.

Now thankfully this doesn’t apply to everyone who likes the pairing ((Some are just like me and ship everything)), but randomly putting two people as a ship only because they can’t interrupt the “ Better “ ship, get on my nerves. 

Don’t put ships on pedestals, one ship should not be treated better than another.

But that’s my only real issue with it: how the fandom mistreats it and uses it as ship fodder.

Other than that, i think it could be kinda interesting.
