It’s my weekend morning & last night there was a lovely evening hosted by the Spanish artists with traditional food & sangria. And this opening sentence has nothing to do with my post.
My post relates to the love of our venue, La Rambleta. I’ve been spoilt.
There’s a beautiful top-spec and brand new theatre seating hundreds and hundreds of people; which because the theatre has gone dark for the summer it means we are rehearsing daily on the actual stage (even though there’s several rehearsal studios & soon to be some theatre pieces coming in).
Two delightful gallery spaces that have already provided me with two performances.
A gorgeous restaurant which I eat at 5 days a week.
An outdoor cinema showing some amazing films whilst we are here… I cannot wait for the silent movie night with live music.
A ‘Creative Chamber’ on the 6th floor which is a giant warehouse performance studio.
A separate smaller gig venue for music and dance shows - several have been on since arriving. And currently there is a festival to raise money for refugees which we are supporting this evening.
And a library which I explored for the first time yesterday. (Hence the photos) It, like the rest of Rambleta, is square and angular which rather than creating a cold atmosphere actually, somehow, provides every room with natural light & thus a calming atmosphere.
Speaking of light, the actual theatre auditorium can be completely lit by the floor to ceiling windows on every level at both sides of the seating. It’s the strangest sensation to be in a conventional theatre space but for it to be bright with so much natural light surrounding you, and the vision of trees through glass!
