My absolutely favorite dish at Ramayani in West LA, the Nasi Goreng, Indonesian style fried rice. It's sweet and savory with a sunny side up egg on top.

I have never had Indonesian food before, and am a little annoyed that it's taken me so long.
The food at Ramayani has a unique quality, it tastes both unique and familiar. The satay's we had (beef, pork and chicken) had the conventional peanut sauce, but this was mild in peanut taste and had a fantastic dark brown sauce blended in (soy maybe?) Best I've ever had. The Singapore noodles were delicate and topped with shredded chicken and roast pork. It came with a little cup of chicken broth on the side, which looked clear, but was very flavorful. For starters we had the OtakOtak, which I would recommend just because it's unique and interesting, it's not really that delicious. It's a fish cake grilled in a banana leaf, with a nice sauce on the side. The texture is spongy, but a little interesting, and each bite does taste a little better. The Tumis Kangkung was delightful. Stir fried Hawaiian watercress stir fried w/garlic and jalapeno's and shredded chicken on top. Really good and fresh. The Sambal Goreng Tahu Buncis must have been good, because my husband pretty much ate it all before I had a chance to try. It was string beans and tofu in a coconut curry sauce.
There are about 5OOO menu items, so look for my future comments, as I'm heading back again today for lunch.
