怨み節
@rakugami
This hateful regret, I cannot forgive. It is not erased.
Without the cherry blossoms, spring continues to make its announcement. Sweet scent of new life breathes in her lungs, fills them to the brim akin to the water that took her and Sukeroku. Even now this sight is overwhelming, like in any instant it shall vanish and her breathe will stop.
The dying fruit of the flower, it can no longer bloom. In blind bitterness it lives out its days.
Actually, her lungs may as well have stopped working anyhow. If only because the sight has stolen her breathe away. Because this time it’s no common man, no common person that will simply let her go after a brief exchange. No, it’s him. It’s him and she is unsure to what extent his body is welcome near her. His warmth is lingering as his presence was in her life, always threatening to disappear in any instant. Leave her in the cold, letting her cling onto herself to wonder and wonder -- was it my mistake?
A woman, a woman, a woman's life's bitter melody.
But for once, he holds her back. She can only wonder if this park in full bloom would allow such a withered flower like herself to ruin the sight with her hatred. Miyokichi doesn’t fight, neither does Yurie. Both the geisha and the woman unite in one once the heavy beat of her already dead heart pounded strongly against her chest.
“Kiku-san.” His name feels like poison in her lips -- ah but how sweet it is, rolling gently in her tongue and savouring every vocal and consonant as a unique delicacy. Eyelids shut in a gentle attempt of keeping a composure she did not have. Of course, she had no reason to remain calm and owed him nothing. Embarrassing him in public had a tempting tone yet, he was nothing here. What was the point? His ambitions, his rakugou and whatnot -- what a beautiful thought to know them gone from Kikuhiko’s hands. “Have you come to meet me in hell?” Instead, what he will find in his hands are Miyokichi’s gentle fingers.
Fingers that craved to tear apart everything he has left...
“But I must admit, it is a pretty sight. Say, have you found the cherry blossoms in this park? I can’t help but want to look at them.”
