Hello, Miss Ellegaard; do you like my latest tattoo?
She glances up from dimly lit circuits, squinting as her eyes adjust. Then she removes her goggles. Just to make sure sheโs seeing this right.
โ..Well, isnโt that a beauty..โ
Ellie shifts her weight, sitting up on her stool. There's a noticeable upturn to the corners of her mouth. โYouโll have to pardon my tangent here, but it puts me in mind of the first law of thermodynamics. The math formula can be bunch of intellectual jargon, sure- but the big idea is that the amount of energy in any system, even our universe, never changes. Only gets converted to other forms.โ
She taps her chin, humming a bit to herself. โSo by that logic, Iโd suppose the universe really doesnโt lose track of anything. Just puts it on different shelves, in different containers, for us to find and use again later.โ She smiles. โPretty cool if I do say so myself! That goes double for your tattoo.โ
