IT'S SO VERY. actually it's not too unlike the misunderstandings piece honestly jfshahjka. i know i'm always moaning awww why didn't we get any wilbur and niki interactions in pogtopia but frankly the silence speaks volumes - why didn't they, from that watsonian perspective? after everything niki had been through in manberg, after how different wilbur was from when they last spoke, after the festival and the narrowly avoided explosion, why didn't they?
maybe it's a matter of not wanting to unsettle the peace between them. like, their friendship is a comfortable thing. it persists in ghostbur's memories after death. niki wears wilbur's coat in her absolutely darkest moments. isn't it enough to care for each other? the world around them sucks, there's something deep and lingering in wilbur that he can't shake on a good day, but can't they just be each other's light thing, each other's good memory?
is that really such a bad thing to want from a friend?
and maybe i hope that one day after c!wilbur steps off the ledge he’s put himself on again he can just hang out in his friend’s house and they can bake together. maybe i do hope for that
