Why did you tag that post as 'mtf' and 'trans'? There's no suggestion throughout the post that the man in question is either of those things. :/
I think you mean the post "Living with a transvestite"? Crossdressers are trans, under the definition of the trans umbrella. Certainly, crossdressers who take hormones are trans! In fact, a lot of crossdressers call themselves trans women these days! Some of them get surgery. Is there really any way to tell them apart, by looking?
Trans women, drag queens, crossdressers, and etc all exist on the same continuum - we're all male. This is not to say that all of our lives are the same (they are definitely not), but it is to point out that there is no clear distinction between "cis guys" who cross dress, or "cis drag queens" (lol at that one), and trans women - since being a trans woman is 100% a matter of self-definition now, and once a trans woman says she's a trans woman, it retroactively makes her a trans woman throughout her whole life.
So, do I personally think of that transvestite guy as a trans woman? Fuck no. He was a sexist pig of a man. But I'm old fashioned, and he most certainly is trans by the busted logic of modern trans activism - EXCEPT of course when the trans community is trying to prove how they're the "real laydees" by throwing their "cis guy" siblings under the proverbial bus.
So really it's just a stark illustration that the only way "because I say so" can exist as a political movement, is hand-in-hand with an endless game of "No true Scotsman". Which personally, I'm calling bullshit on. Let's look at behavior!
