#rainbow shadows

Sometimes I worry nobody has ever known me I couldn’t slow down enough for them to get more than a snapshot Of who I was in a moment If I had known it I might have even sped up My parents up and left Sold the house I grew up in Moved a few connecting flights away Maybe I was going too fast for me to know who I’ve been too Yesterday’s scars came from a place I can’t remember But I feel them cracking sometimes Like a pane of glass, ripple effect The epicenter denser but hidden under more skin and memories Veins of seconds and somethings getting thinner as they reach my exterior I forget why Why don’t I ever slow down? Today’s bruises are still fresh Dark in the point of contact But the colors pigmenting further out Like a spectrum of light I’ve forgotten where they came from These little rainbow shadows
