Do you notice the keyword in this statement by Coco Chanel? To me the keyword is “decide”. Nothing happens in your life if you don’t decide first. Granted some things happen to you in your life (because life happens) even if you haven’t decided, but when you are on purpose, and you decide to be more beautiful, whether inside or out or both, Is when the transformation happens. There’s a saying that says “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, but if you don’t feel beautiful yourself, others have a hard time seeing it. I’ve seen so many women that begin to see themselves as beautiful in my industry of being a skincare and makeup specialist, when they take the steps to start taking care of their skin and learning even basic skills of how to apply make up to bring out their features. I’ve seen women actually blossom and become more confident, and when that happens I also see them speak up more, step out more, and literally become more of who God created them to be. It’s an amazing thing. First decide that you would like to become more beautiful. Inside beauty in my opinion is even more important than outside beauty. In my world inside beauty comes from having a knowledge that you are created in Gods image. That the beauty of my soul radiates out through my eyes, my speech and my actions to where the world sees it. Outword beauty is usually easier to obtain then inward beauty, because we have so many struggles within ourselves. Even the Apostle Paul highlighted the human struggle we experience. He knew that even those with God’s Spirit still have a human nature and have to resist the selfish pulls of the flesh while seeking to obey God’s law. Paul summed up this struggle when he wrote: “I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.”

Becoming more beautiful is a journey. First you decide, and then you take the steps necessary, and as you move forward, the transformation happens!

Like Coco Chanel says “Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself!”
