OKAYYY SOOOO IM IN A PREDICAMENT
A few weeks ago i was talking to my mom and i had told her i had filled out a form for robotics, specifically a comp we go to every year called rainbow rumble (which is a LGBT+ focused event, this becomes important later in the story) BUT i had told her that i filled out the form saying i was going, to which she replied, “Oh no you WILL NOT!” And i asked, “why so? Its just a robotics thing, no big problem” and she said possibly the most HOMOPHOBIC thing i had ever heard in my entire life which was “because it celebrates something we do not in this family” and proceeds to add on to that with “how can you even stand those people” MIND YOU I HAVE QUEER FRIENDS WHO HAVE MET MY MOM AND SHE DIDNT EVEN MIND THEM! like what in the name of Gracious Professionalism are you saying my guy. And pretty much the rest was a blur, i ended up crying because i couldnt believe she was capable of saying shit like that.
Anyways fast forward to today, i was asked if i needed a carpool by a teammate (i had put it on the form that i did) and i explained to her that even though i would, i still wouldnt have a way to get to the fine art center (where my team usually does carpools) and so the teammate asked for my address so my guess is someone is going to pick me up? I dont really know but i feel bad because i feel like this is putting some pressure on my teammates all because of my mom and her unkindness. Aghhhh what do i doooooo
