Anyway, Jason and Kyle both have their hazy memories from Countdown but in this reality they’ve never actually met. Queue some kind of alien hijinks and Jason and Kyle come face to face again and they suddenly have all these memories of knowing the other and they both just kind of stare at each other. At first they’re hesitant to fall into that love-hate-mostly-hate relationship because none of it was real, none of it actually happened, it would be weird to treat each other like they have history and beef when they actually don’t, and meanwhile Jason has a way better rep in this reality and Kyle is thinking, “I always did think he was stupidly hot with his bad boy shtick, and since I’ve started remembering that reality I did wonder if things would be different if I met him in this universe on occasion.” And Jason is definitely still hot, he knows that much at least.

So they’re really awkward and distant and hesitant with each other at first, as soon as the aliens they’ve totally forgotten about jump in to attack, they fall immediately into defensive formations like they have actually worked together before and know what they are doing. And they think, huh, this pretty cool.
