I talked about writing a DOS2 fic for a little bit, and I finally decided to get started on it. Here is the first chapter of “To Err is Divine,” starring my Godwoken OC Rahimus. My goal for now is to write at least all of the events of Act 1, but depending on popularity I’d love to expand into the entire rest of the game.

As I’ve been playing Divinity: Original Sin 2 more frequently as of late, I thought I’d make a character profile for my lizard bro: Rahimus! There’s a distinct lack of Divinity OCs/custom characters online from what I could find, and maybe this might start a reblog chain if anyone else wants to share theirs.

Backstory: 

Rahimus was born to a noble family belonging to the Ancient Empire’s House of War notable for generations of corrupt and shady leaders. His father was no exception, and Rahimus was raised by his parents to be keen of wit and ruthless in his dealings; power came to those quick enough to take it and strong enough to hold it. In early adolescence both Rahimus’ parents fell alongside each other in battle, leading to him taking his parents’ seat as the head of the family. He quickly took to resuming their schemes, expanding their criminal enterprise and profiting greatly while under the guise of loyal service to the Empire.

But this scheming was unsustainable. After using hired thugs to bully and steal from another nobleman’s territory, the aforementioned noble from the House of Laws began to catch on to his plans. Despite Rahimus’ attempt to fabricate evidence that would exonerate him, his plan fell to pieces, and in a panic Rahimus shot the nobleman when confronted. He fled the Empire with a price on his head and his family’s titles dissolved. On the road, Rahimus began understanding how those less privileged than himself live, and he begun to feel guilt over his past actions. Eventually he was tracked down by the thugs he’d used, who were angry at their lack of pay and intended to extract what they were owed in blood. It was during this fight that Rahimus exerted powerful Source, leading to his capture at the hands of Magisters and his imprisonment on Fort Joy.
