I donât think heâs that fantastic and it kind of makes me annoyed to see the #discourse on either side of the trade (heâs great with Marner though?). Also, his contract is a bit wasteful, and the team should have focused some of that on finding some defensive talent that we really need (although, granted, thatâs not entirely because of his contract alone, but still).
2) There are some teams in the league who you can just look at and know for a fact they wonât win a Cup for a long, LONG time. They might get to the finals but they wonât win. Dallas is one of them. San Jose is another. And the Caps.
3) Edmonton is wasting McDavidâs talent just like they waste that of every rookie theyâre unfortunate enough to get and it pisses me off to see the media act like itâs the rookiesâ fault when this happens. They shouldnât have made McDavid captain, but I guess it serves them just as well to pin the C on him and tout him as the next Great Thing if it means people wonâtÂ
