Met Eleonora Vallone last night at the film presentation "Gold and Lead" and She is the daughter ofĀ one of my favouriteĀ actorsĀ Raf ValloneĀ andĀ Elena Varzi. EleonoraĀ made her film debut in 1979 in the "poliziottesco"Ā Gardenia, and later starred in several genre films, also in the more ambitiousĀ Alberto BevilacquaĀ drama filmĀ Le rose di Danzica. InĀ 1981 she hosted theĀ Sanremo Music FestivalĀ alongsideĀ Claudio Cecchetto.Ā In the same yearĀ she appeared nude in several men's magazines such asĀ PlaymenĀ and the Italian edition ofĀ PlayboyĀ that litteraly...sold out!!! A pioneer and teacher of water gymnastics, Eleonora Vallone founded the first Italian school forĀ water aerobicsĀ instructors, and she patented the method "GymNuoto". She also wrote three books about waterobics, "GymNuoto", "GymVasca" and "GymSwim". She was enchanting to Watch and has aĀ lovely personality. More importantĀ is, obviously,Ā her father Raf Vallone:Ā his first job as a movie actor was a bit part inĀ We the LivingĀ (1942) (aka, "We the Living"), but Vallone was not serious about acting as a career. Hired as a researcher on a film about labor unrest, directorĀ Giuseppe De SantisĀ (with whom my family used to visit every summer in Sperlonga)Ā cast Vallone as a soldier competing withĀ Vittorio GassmanĀ for the love ofĀ Silvana ManganoĀ in what became the neo-realist classicĀ Bitter RiceĀ (1949Ā "RISO AMARO"). The film propelled Vallone, pronounced a natural actor by De Santis, into international stardom and ended his journalism career... ValloneĀ thenĀ became a major star in Italy in the 1950s and then a player in the global film industry, making movies in Italian, French and English. Vallone achieved popularity with American audiences in the 1960s, starting with his supporting roles inĀ Two WomenĀ (1960) ("Two Women") andĀ El CidĀ (1961), both co-starringĀ Sophia Loren. Other major actresses he co-starred with on film and stage includedĀ Gina Lollobrigida,Ā Anna Magnani,Ā Melina Mercouri,Ā Simone Signoret, andĀ Elena Varzi, to whom he was married for 52 years, until his death in 2002. #eleonoravallone #rafvallone #risoamaro #marcusberesford #carpediem #livemoments (presso Ex Caserma Guido Reni) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6N1O8Wosky/?igshid=e2ak1849w9tj
