it's literally night and day. it helps that capaldi is imo the best actor the show has ever had and can hard carry mediocre scripts but like. the writing is also genuinely so much better, the stakes get ratcheted wayyyy down and the characters are so much better written. series 7 and series 8 clara are for all intents and purposes different characters
