When I'm talking about not liking proshipping, let me make this clear. As long as it's not pedophilia, incest (including step-family), a highly abusive relationship, non-consenting, and in fact acknowledges if a character is aromantic or asexual in canon then the ship should be adjusted accordingly. Case in point, I ship queerplatonic Valgrace. Which is Jason Grace and Leo Valdez from the Rick Riordan series Heroes Of Olympus. But, I also headcanon Leo as aroace because I personally hate Calypso and she's also thousands of years old and he's a teenager. Back to my point, as long as it's consensual and not illegal it's probably alright. Before you try to argue with me about it being a coping mechanism to regularly fantasize about fictional children, it might be for YOU but that shit should be private. Or maybe you shouldn't do it at all because not all coping mechanisms are healthy! Otherwise, make your ships as non-cishet, kinky, or whatever you want. Follow the golden rule though, don't break the law. Same with OC's as well. As a literal child who had unsupervised internet access way too early in life, I can testify to how fiction affects reality. Remember that comic PJ's daycare? When I was younger I watched comic dubs of it on YouTube and for a while I had fond memories of that shit. Genuinely, what the fuck? It literally makes me nauseous every time I see it. No, it's not a healthy coping mechanism, I know damn well your therapist didn't tell you to post about how much you want to fuck a fictional child on Twitter, you have ISSUES. Case in point, remember the shit the Dream SMP fandom did to Tommyinnit and other creators on there who very much weren't being comfortable with being sexualized? Ignoring their boundaries and creating fanfiction and art about them engaging in these acts. Alongside my rambling, we need to have a conversation about WHY celebrities should be able to have boundaries without being criticized. Because some of you are getting way too parasocial.
