Race stress-smokes in response to even the mildest things

Crutchie will smoke only when things get really, truly bad, and only race knows

During the strike, race went through almost his entire box (he nicked a new one shortly after)

When crutchie gets back, and everyone is celebrating, he and race go up to the roof (jack isn't there right then) and crutchie almost immediately borrows race's cigar, freaking race out, because crutchie hadn't done that in forever, and definitely not without asking to borrow it first

And they talk

They missed each other a surprising amount, especially considering the jokes race had made that nearly crossed the line from teasing to jerk

And later that night, jack finds them both on top of each other, fast asleep and race's cigar in crutchie's hand
