Dewis fanfic - I won’t fall for that
Well here’s chapter 2. I’m trying to grab a hold of the early state of their relationship, so don’t expect the fluff to happen soon, but I assure you it’ll happen.
Hope you guys liked it and as always comment and give me your suggestions.
Chapter 2
“I figured you should be a little nicer with the person you’ll be living with for the rest of the year, roomie.”
I look at her, paralyzed, without knowing what I’m supposed to say while she smirks at me. Did she really just say roomie?
Fuck no.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
“What now? I promise I’ll be the best roomie you’ll ever have.” – She says when she notices the grin on my face.
I can sense the sarcasm on her voice and I’m very aware of the smile on her face, and I just know this won’t go well. I take two deep breaths and look at her.
“Well there’s nothing I can do about it, so let’s just head upstairs.”
I start to pick up my stuff, only to realize I have way too many bags to carry on myself to the elevator and then to the bedroom but I’m way to proud to ask for help, especially from her. I start to pile everything up and try to drag it to the elevator. I should have known better because this was way to predictable. I stumble in my own feet and fall flat on the ground. All I can hear after this is Daly’s laugh.
“Do you mind?” – I ask her, slightly pissed off because she hasn’t asked if I need help when I clearly do.
“No, no, I really don’t. I like the view from up here.” – she says still laughing. People start walking around us and I really just want her to help so we can get off of this awkward situation.
“Camon Rachel please.” – I say while looking at her.
“Well you’re going to have to be more precise darling. Last time I tried to help you, you said you were more than capable of doing it yourself.” – she says smiling from ear to ear, I can tell she’s really enjoying this. I’ll have my revenge later.
“Okay you win … Can you please help me with my bags? And quick?” – I say with a fake smile.
“Of course, love. Always one to help a lady.”
She gives me her hand and I take. I can feel how strong her hands are from the grip, they also feel rough and warm under my touch, what I would like to define as safe hands. I caught myself wishing I could hold them a little longer just to get a better hold of the feeling. I realize what I’m thinking and let go of her hand soon as I’m standing. She helps pick up my suitcases and bags and carries almost all of them to the elevator, leaving me with a bag and a suitcase.
I join her on the elevator and our bodies are almost pressed together because almost all the space is being occupied by my bags. I now realize that she’s taller than me, not much, maybe an inch or two, but sense we’re so close, I can see that her head is hovering over mine.
I look up to her eyes and I see that she’s looking at me, smiling. I feel my body tense up a bit when I realize how close we are for the second time, I really just want to get out of this elevator her presence, closeness is suffocating me. I guess our room is on the last floor of the fucking building because this shit won’t stop going up.
I guess she senses my awkwardness or she just starts to feel awkward herself because she breaks the silence.
“Are you excited for your first train with the team?”
Now that she talked I wish she hadn’t, I can feel her chest move against mine while she talks. What fuck is going with you Mewis, she’s just a girl, a teammate, get your shit together. I figured I might as well give her an honest answer since she’s helping me with bags.
“Well of course. I really want to make a difference on the team, not just filling space you know?”
“Of course. When I joined the team, I was so eager to make a difference, so insecure about my own abilities, if I was good enough, that I even forgot about enjoying the game. Just don’t do that okay?”
Being honest, I would never imagine Rachel Daly as the nervous, insecure little girl. I was about to say something when we heard the ding from the elevator, indicating we had reached our floor. Then we pick up my stuff and head towards the bedroom. She opens the door and just drops everything on the front of the room, running towards the bed near the window right after.
“Dibs” – she says and I swear she’s a kid.
I grab my things and put then next to my bed and lay down.
“Really no argument? I was hopping for a little fight. Everybody loves the bed that’s near the window.” – she says with a face, that makes me think that I just finished killing a puppy.
“Well not me and now if you excuse me, I have to call my parents. So just shut the fuck up.”
She laughs at me and says that she also has to make some calls, so she leaves the room.
I call my mom and dad first, tell them how great Houston is. Tell my dad that I’ve met his favorite soccer player and that she is my teammate. I still can´t believe he likes her, well not like, he worships her. I would love to know his opinion on her if he knew she was trying to cup a feel of her beloved daughter.
Next, I call my sister, we talk a bit about nothing specific and then she says that she was to leave because of training. Finally, I call Steff via skype, I leave in on no hands because I know that we can talk for hours and I need to start to unpack. We talk about the boys from Houston. Not that I have seen much, we talk about her summer flings and a bunch of other useless stuff. We were starting to talk about my arrival at Dash when Rachel reenters, laying down on her bed, giving me thumbs up to say that she doesn’t mind that I’m talking with Steph. She picks up her phone and starts scrolling through her dash.
“Well you haven’t told me who your roomie is.” – Steff says, and now I regret leaving our call on no hands in the first place.
“The only and only Rachel Daly.” – I say smiling at her from across the room.
“Oh my god Kristie, you’re going to sleep in the same room as Rachel Daly, she’s pretty hot and really cute accent. I would tap that.”
My face turns red, my whole body turns red. I can’t believe she just said that. I look at Rachel and she’s smirking at me. Well great job Steph. I grab the computer and put on phones.
“Da fuck Steph? Why would you say that?”
“No please don’t be mad at her for saying that. It would be my pleasure, literally.” – Rachel says while smiling.
I look at her and say – “You shut up and you …” – I say looking at the screen – “You know I’m not into girls. How many times do I have to tell that I straight Steph?”
“Well so is spaghetti till it gets wet.” – she says laughing at her own joke.
“Oh man I can’t deal with this today, I’m to tired... I’ll call you tomorrow at the same time ok? See if you can behave tomorrow. Love you.”
“Can’t promise anything. Love you too KMew.”
I hang up the call and look to my left where Rachel Daly is laying with a smile that would make you think she just won the lottery.
“So that was Stephanie McCaffrey I suppose” – She states with a smile.
“Yes.”
“So then correct if I’m wrong but your best friend thinks I’m worth fucking and you’re straight as a brick.” – she says still smiling.
“Well don’t let it get to your head, she really doesn’t have good taste.” – I say just to try and rub that smug of her face.
“Well the straight part is almost impossible to be true. You look straight indeed but you can’t fool me with that innocent face. Concerning the other one well if you really want to see if your friend has bad taste you should at least try.” – She says and winks at me.
“I’ll have to pass on that beautiful offer but thanks.”
“Never say never love.” – she says and gets up.
“I’m going to get ready to go to bed, you should too. Tomorrow is your first practice with the team and I don’t want to make a fool out of yourself. Goodnight Kris” – she says and then she enters the bathroom.
Did she just call me Kris? That’s a really cool nickname actually, it sounds way cutter than the usual in that accent. I lay my head on my pillow and I realize that this hasn’t been all bad, maybe this will turn out to be a great experience.
Dewis Fanfic - I won’t fall for that
So I’ve been thinking about writing a dewis fanfic for a while now. None of this is real or confirmed, I only intend to use their names for entertainment.
Leave your comment and tell me what you think.
Chapter one
Today is the first day. The first day after all that crap with Washington, Chicago and Dash. I was really looking forward staying in Chicago, that way I could be with my best friend Stephanie McCaffrey. She’s a pain in the ass but we´ve been friends for so long that I don´t know what I would do without her.
I´m currently at the airport waiting for my flight to Houston, Texas to take off. I´m not mad that I’m going to play for the Dash, I know some of the girls and all, but I don’t think they´re that good of a team. Anyway, I’m not one to whine, that’s just not me.
“First call on flight 884 …”
Well I guess that’s my cue.
Finally, I arrived. Soon as I step a foot outside of the airplane I realize how hot it is, I forgot about the weather change, so I take off my shirt leaving me with a crop top and some jeans. Then I start to look for the player that’s supposed to pick me up along with our assistant coach, on the email they didn’t said who was going to pick me up, but I supposed it is going to be some of my former colleagues from the Boston Breakers.
I’ve been walking for 15 min now and I can´t find anyone, so I pick up my phone and search for the club’s number. As I’m about to click on it, I feel someone run straight into me, making me drop my phone. Ok now I’m pissed, it’s hot as fuck, no one came to pick me up and now someone just made me drop my phone. I was about to look up and tell this girl to watch herself when I hear her say.
“I’m so sorry love. Are you alright?”
Okay I know I’m supposed to be mad, but I’ve always been a sucker for accents especially British ones and this girl has a gorgeous one. Although the accent made me calm down a little that only lasted a few seconds because as soon as I look up I start to get angry again, in front of me was the girl who knocked my phone down, who is the same girl that was supposed to pick me up, the one and only Rachel Daly, known as the NWSL player. She looks at me surprised, I think she only now realized I’m the one she was supposed to drive home, but then she looks at me, up and down focusing her gaze on my uncovered stomach leaving her eyes there for a brief second, to look at me right after with a smirk on her face. Someone should have told her I’m not into girls so that famous smirk won’t work on me.
I just don’t get why girls tend to get crazy over her, I mean yes, she is kinda pretty, blonde hair, blue eyes and all that and she is a decent player but the way she treats girls should be at least a turn off for every single one of them, maybe the accent helps a little. As I’m about to try to speak for the second time she beats me to it again.
“Oh Kristie Mewis right? I’m sorry about that, my fault. I’m Rachel Daly, I’m supposed to drive you to the club.”
Okay the accent helps a lot.
“Right and I know who you are.”
I answer with a cold tone.
“Damn the girl is feisty, I usually like them a little more tamed, but we can work on that.”
I look at her in disbelief, I can´t believe she just said that. I guess she saw the look on my face because she started laughing and said
“Calm down darling I was just kidding, no need to worry. Now let’s hurry because we’re already late for the team meeting.”
She then grabs my luggage and starts heading out of the airport.
We enter the car, and she puts one some music, one direction I may add, okay this girl has earned herself some points.
“I feel like I barely heard you speak since you arrived, and you’re allowed to sing I put this one because I know you like it.” – she says.
“How do you know that?”
“Hey, I have to look up the newbies, and your obsession with Harry Styles was one of the firsts to show up. I mean I get it the accent does most of the job right? And you also searched for me, you said you already knew who I was.”
“You do realize I’m older than you right? So, you’re the newbie, and yes the accent does most of the job, but only in his case. So don’t even try.”
I say trying to sound serious and all that but the girl is actually nicer than I was expecting, so it comes of softer than I expected.
“I’m not trying anything here. Pinky promise” – She says while smiling – “but now I’m curious what do you know about me that has made you act so aggressive towards me.”
I realized I’ve been tough on the girl for now reason. Just based on other people opinions so I decide to stop and try to make a friend on this new team.
“Nothing much I was just a little bit tired from the flight. Let’s try this again. Hi I’m Kristie Mewis I’m excited to be joining the Dash this season.” – I extend my hand towards her.
“Okay then. Hi I’m Rachel Daly and I’m glad you’re here. We need some good reinforcements, and you’re actually pretty good. Oh and I would shake your hand but I’m driving and I don’t want to crash the car or you know die.”
She says with smile and I laugh because I didn’t really think this whole thing through.
“Oh she can smile, I’m surprised. You should do it more often you know?”
“Yeah yeah cut the crap. Anyways what should I know about the girl who got to the sports centers top 10?”
I say just to let her know that I know stuff about her. When I saw that goal, I was amazed it was so perfectly put in the upper 90, she’s a really good player. I see her smiling at me from the side, at the mention of her goal.
“Well I would love to stay here and talk to you about my great accomplishments, but we have arrived and we’re already late for the team reunion. And something tells we’ll have plenty of time to talk about this. Wait a second, don’t leave the car.”
She says and opens her door and leaves with a wink. My mind is stuck on the phrase “we’ll have plenty of time” what did she mean by that? I’m so out of myself that I don’t see her go around the car and open the door for me. Okay I’ll admit I’m a sucker for this type of stuff, but I can’t let her know that, so I choose to say.
“You know I’m perfectly capable of opening a door by myself you know.”
She laughs at me and grins and I don’t know what that means.
“Well suit yourself.”
She says, shutting the door on my face and running towards the entry of the building. I hurry to get out of the car and run after her. Out of all the people on this team it had to be her.
The team reunion was kinda fun. I sat beside Rachel de whole time, not by choice I may add but because it was the only empty seat left when we arrived. She spent the whole time cracking jokes about her own teammates, the girl was pretty funny.
I met some of my older colleagues from the Boston Breakers and of course I had to present myself to the team, along with my statists and accomplishments. The whole time I was up there Rachel was whistling yelling “I found her lost at the airport, I should get a raise.”. I seriously don’t know why she’s this hyped I’ve known her for 3 hours max and she acts like I’m her best friend.
Well the team reunion eventually ends, and everybody leaves. I’m waiting for the coach, so I can talk to her about the place I’m staying in. I still don’t know where I’ll be staying. I don’t have to wait much longer because Rachel leaves the room shortly after everyone and smiles at me with a different type of smile that I don’t know if I like.
“What is it now?” – I ask her.
“Nothing, nothing …. What are you waiting for?”
“Coach. I don’t know where I’m staying.”
“I was hoping that would be the answer. See girl I’m the answer to all your problems, you don’t have to wait any longer.”
“And why is that smartass?”
She then smiles and looks at me with the same smirk she gave me when we were leaving the car.
“I figured you should be a little nicer with the person you’ll be living with for the rest of the year, roomie.”
I look at her, paralyzed, without knowing what I’m supposed to say while she smirks at me. Did she really just say roomie?
Fuck no.
I hope you guys liked it.
