I just needed to mention that it was quite productive to call in and participate in the @rattlemagazine open mic section called "Poets Respond Live" this past Sunday that can seen on the main site, YouTube and Facebook, that specifically seeks out poets who write poems based on news or events in real time of a prior week. This opportunity gave room for the recitation of my poem, "Brown Water," which was triggered by a story out of Little Rock, Arkansas where a teacher forced a 5-year-old student to unclog a toilet with his bare hands, a very important poem that needed to be heard. If you are interested in hearing my recitation, use the following link to do so and you can start at the 25:09 point where I begin, but it is strongly suggested to let your ears imbibe the entire program because there are some amazing poets that participated as well and you may acquire your own personal nuggets of info and inspiration and you also might be encouraged to get on the online mic yourself. Thanks for your time.
