Using this prompt from Pinterest, I want to talk about my newest OC-x-Canon ship with Janus.

A short summary of their overall relationship: Carwyn had been smitten with Janus for a long time and had only gotten the courage to admit his feelings around Janus' birthday. Janus (though mostly teasing him) indirectly stated that Carwyn and him could start dating if he wanted to. The two have been inseparable since then :)

With that being said, on to the questionarie :D

(1) -- What were their first impressions of each other?

For their first, true interaction, Carwyn thought he had royally screwed himself over. He had lost his balance by tripping over something and went stumbling into the wall. It wasn't painful or anything but it did make Janus smirk at least. After Janus helped Carwyn up, Carwyn finally was able to see Janus up close and smitten he was. Carwyn bolted out of there soon after though.

(2) -- Is it a causal relationship, or true love? Or somewhere in between?

It's a bit of both. In the beginning, Carwyn was trying to make it this "traditional" romantic relationship but that's not what he or Janus really wanted. Some aspects of it being laid-back and causal actually worked well for Janus, who Carwyn had mistakenly believed wouldn't enjoy that sort of thing because of Janus' overall personality (See "First Date" Gacha skit). After they talked it out more, they decided that an in-between of romantic and causal would do just fine.

(3) -- What was each of them's "Oh shit I have feelings for them" moment?

For Carwyn, it was when he started observing Janus' interactions with the others. He was very flustered most of the time when he would hear Janus' laugh or anything else. Remus pointed out that Carwyn had "Fucking Eyes" (that didn't help Carwyn's blushing at all). Carwyn, being the humble person he was, stated that it was probably just a small crush and nothing else would happen. Then Remus slowly started explaining that no "small crush" was a thing if your nose bleeds every time you see someone. Carwyn bashfully admitted that it may be a stronger attraction but he wanted to wait to see if Janus would ask first.

For Janus, it was honestly from the start after Carwyn showed how much of a klutz he could be; a charming idiot. What Janus didn't expect was how long it took. Janus honestly had the patience of Job when it came to seeking out others. It was the relationship equivalent of playing Chicken. Were you going to tell him directly or wait around? It was all a game in a way but he knew that all he had to do was say a few short words and they would crack. The same thing that he did with Carwyn except Carwyn was just shy as hell to say anything.

(4) -- Did either of them fight their feelings, or was it easy to accept?

Janus, just by his personality, naturally hid his feelings until Carwyn directly stated that he had feelings for him. It was only then that he had opened up. But Carwyn? Carwyn is probably the most, easy-to-read person EVER! He is so easy to fluster, he blushes at the slightest compliment made at him, and makes various horse neighs or whinny's when he gets nervous/anxious. So in short, it was easy for Janus to fight his feelings (to a degree) while Carwyn physically couldn't.

(5) -- When was their first "I love you"? What prompted it? If neither has said it yet, why?

Ironically, it happened in a far more causal environment than both had thought it would happen. Carwyn was cuddling Janus under a warm blanket and just brought up what Janus defined as love. Even as the Embodiment of Love, Carwyn felt like he was having a difficult time trying to find what made Janus tick; what made the snake boi go crazy over him. Janus stated that it took time and that Carwyn might be trying to rush things. Carwyn sulked about it for a moment, thinking back to his failed attempts of woo-ing the logical and intrusive aspects. Janus reassured Carwyn that he did love him but also to not overcomplicate it. Carwyn agreed.

(6) -- WHO'S THE BIG SPOON WHO'S THE LITTLE SPOON TELL ME NOW!!!!!!

It changes depending on if one of them needs to be comforted or not. But who primarily gets these roles is Janus being the big spoon and Carwyn being the little one. Janus feels comfortable to be more affectionate to Carwyn in private and so will happily nuzzle against the warmer Side's back. Carwyn, on the other hand, likes the feeling of being hugged by multiple arms and the fact that Janus feels safe enough to do this at all.

(7) -- What was the biggest obstacle to their relationship?

Carwyn's Codependence and Janus' Vulnerability issues. For Carwyn, it started becoming more about what Janus liked; what Janus wanted to do and other things to the point that it concerned Janus (see "First Date" Gacha Skit). For Janus, he felt like the minute that he opened up to Carwyn, Carwyn started getting "Cold Feet" and was worried about him. He felt like he either had to find out what was making Carwyn act like this or be forced to put his shell back on (See "Hanahaki Disease" Gacha Skit). Luckily, the two are more aware of this and do everything they can to acknowledge these problems if they occur again.

(8) -- What drew them to each other the most?

Carwyn's determination to make the relationship work and know everything he could about Janus before trying to pursue him melted the deceptive side's heart. Out of all the things that Carwyn loved about Janus, the main thing that attracted him to the snake boi WAS his more stoic persona. Much like Logan, Carwyn took this side of Janus as his primary so when he learned that it was all a facade, Carwyn then was able to find ways to sneak out the real side of Janus that he may not be comfortable showing to just anyone.

(9) -- How long did they know each other before developing feelings?

Carwyn was already in love with Janus from the beginning while it took Janus a minute to develop feelings. It started as a "Oh another person that will need my help? At least he's not that annoying" to "Oh he knows my favorite midday tea blend and how to deal with my shedding scales? Why has no one dated him yet?".

(10) -- What's each's favorite quality about the other?

Carwyn's humbleness. Janus notice how often Carwyn tries to deflect any genuine compliment that sounds like praise. It's just in Carwyn to let others shine and when he gets the chance, he wants to share it. (So another person Janus has to teach about being momentary selfish). And that is also what Carwyn loves about Janus. Janus ability to read a person and know what they need without every being told what. While Carwyn will take his shirt off and give it just about anyone who would ask, Janus is specific of who he would do that for and for what reason.
