What is a varmit? (My personal definition)
A varmit is usually a small, furry, four legged, boxy animal about the size of a toaster oven. The term is most often used for wildlife that, while not dangerous, cause a “nuisance” towards humans in some aspects. Sometimes this is from natural behaviors of the animals like digging burrows, the smell, or the sheer number of them alone. Other times this is due to adaptive behaviors like digging through trash cans or harassing livestock.
To be called a varmit is to be called annoying, bothersome, or another likewise insult.
“Varmit” is an informal word that blossomed from colloquial use from the word “vermin”. It is most often spelled “Varmint”.
