Tw: prey drive
I’ve realized I’m rabbit hearted. Which is very interesting because I have very high prey drive especially directed towards them. I just feel very connected with them and respectful towards them for how they provide life for my kind.
I feel this way towards elk and livestock and corvids just not as much or in the same way. Interesting though that wild turkey are my main prey but I hardly have a connection to them. I don’t know why. Maybe I just don’t know enough about them to feel connected.
I feel so conflicted when I’m around domestic rabbits because I want to like mother them and stuff but my prey drive is too high so I have to keep my distance.
I don’t have prey drive towards humans or dogs or cats it kinda sticks to birds and lagomorphs and ungulates.. it’s sad though because growing up I always thought when I’d get old I’d be able to live with a wide range of species and take care of them the way they need and maybe I could even have an animal rescue or work for an animal rescue.. but now I’m too physically disabled to care for so many creatures and with too high prey drive to be trusted around non carnivores.
